Tullan Holmqvist is a writer, actor, investigator and mamma in New York and Florence. Originally from Stockholm, Sweden, Tullan has also lived in Nigeria, Austria, France and Rome.
Author of award-winning psychological thrillers and screenplays, books The Woman in the Park, Lacie’s Secrets, essays and stories.
Tullan has performed in film, TV and theater, her first love, with lead roles in films Under Spanish Skies and Chiaroscuri and in the critically-acclaimed American premiere of Lars Norén’s play Last Supper and her translation of Strindberg’s The Father in New York.
Tullan has a Master’s degree in political science from Florence University, Italy; acting, screenwriting and literature studies at New York U, Boston & Aix-en-Provence U; HB, Actors Studio & Michael Howard.
She has worked as a private investigator on global fraud and art cases in New York; with information design and future scenarios think tank; as a dance teacher and a guide through historical Stockholm in English, Italian, French, German and her native Swedish. Member of the Authors Guild, International Thriller Writers, Actors Without Borders, Svea, Sisters in Crime, and NY public school mentor.
Tullan loves to understand people, cultures and the human spirit and asks way too many questions. Most grateful for her family and two beautiful boys with composer Giovanni Spinelli.
